Westtec are the fourth generation of the same family to be involved in forestry orientated practices in the UK. The first originated in Herefordshire, the second moved to the Scottish border at Kershope forest,  eventually moving to the York area where the third and fourth generation are still based.

Although Westtec concentrate their operations on mainly felling and extraction, they have expertise in sawmilling, replanting, timber haulage and, through family ties, engineering, manufacture and construction of agricultural and forestry machinery.
